Stephen Devassy Biography 
Stephen Devassy is a Malayalam music director, most popular with the music of Mohanlal - Jyothirmayi starrer ‘Hariharan Pillai Happy Aanu’. KQ (2013) – with Parvathy Omanakuttan and Baiju Johnson in main lead was his second release. Stephen holds a record as Asia’s highest scorer in solo piano exams from Trinity College of Music, London. He also holds the record of completing the course within 3 years. Stephen Devassy is recently featured in the 5Talents Magazine on the cover page with his life story. He is also a noted pianist and appears in the reality music show of Mazhavil Manorama.
He was born in Ottapalam on 23 February 1981 to P. K. Devassy & Susy. He has two siblings. He did his schooling at 7th Day Adventist School, Ottapalam. After completing pre-degree at NSS College Ottapalam, he reached London where he completed graduation from Trinity College of Music with record marks of 92.2%, highest percentage by any Asian. He completed 8th grade piano at the tender age of 16. Devassy's first major break came at the age of 18. He was invited by Johny Sagarika, for whom he did the music orchestration of six songs on the album Ishtamannu. Later he accompanied veteran singer Hariharan as a keyboard player for many international tours.
At age 19, he started a music band called ‘Seven’. The popular pop singers Franco, Simon and Sangeeth were the other members of the band, with whom he released one Hindi album titled, Yeh Zindagani. Then he started his career as a music arranger for Malayalam movies and debut as a music director with Hariharan Pillai Happy Aanu in 2003. He is a regular band member in Rexband, a Christian contemporary band.
