Srinivas Avasarala Biography

Srinivas Avasarala is a filmmaker, singer and actor associated with Telugu cinema. This Engineer turned filmmaker made his acting debut with the film Ashta Chamma in the year 2008 before he assisted one film Blind Ambition in 2007. He shot to fame portraying the parallel lead role of Anand for the movie – an Indian adaption of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. He also received a Filmfare nomination for best actor in a supporting role. In 2014 he made his directorial debut with Oohalu Gusagusalade – the movie that bagged him the SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actor. He scripted the movie as well, which turned to be a major hit at box office.

 

Srinivas Avasarala was born in Hyderabad, Telangana. He took diploma in screenwriting from University of California, Los Angeles, followed by a one-year acting course at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York. He worked for a while as an assistant director in New York. Before that he had a short stint with theatre also. Then he moved back to India, where he started off his career as an actor. His debut film Ashta Chamma in the year 2008 earned him accolades from critics as well as audience. He shared screen space with Swathy Reddy and Nani for his debut flick, which was a major success at box office too.

 

Later he acted in the movies – Orange, Saradaga Kasepu, Vara Prasad Potti Prasad, Mugguru, Pilla Zamindar, Golconda High School, Chandamama Lo Amrutham, Adda, Govindudu Andarivadele, Chammak Challo, Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha etc both in lead and supporting roles. He wrote the dialogues of Golconda High School released in 2011. A... Aa - Anasuya Ramalingam Vs Anand Vihari is his upcoming flick, where he plays a pivot role.
