Srikanth (telugu Actor) Biography

Srikanth is a popular actor associated with Telugu cinema. He is married to state award winning Telugu actress, Sivaranjini, also known by the name Ooha. The movie - Operation Duryodhana helped him to bag a nomination at Filmfare for best actor. He received Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award - Shankar Dada M.B.B.S, a Telugu remake of Hindi blockbuster Munna Bhai M.B.B.S where he reprised the comic role played by Arshad Warsi. He received Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Special Jury Award for the movie, Mahatma. He played the title role in the movie written and directed by noted director Krishna Vamsi. The movie was also dubbed into Tamil and Hindi languages. He played the role of a rowdy in this movie which earned him critics’ appreciation.

He was born in Gangavathi, Karnataka in the year 1968. He has 2 siblings and was born in a middle class family without any filmy background. After graduation in commerce he took a diploma in acting from a film institute in Karnataka. He got married to Ooha, noted actress and the couple has three children. He started his career essaying bit roles and villain roles and later rose to prominent ones. People's Encounter – released in 1991 was his first release. Then he appeared in villain’s role in Sitaratnam Gari Abbayee. He did eight more films as a villain. One by Two – was the first movie he played with a positive role.

He has appeared in more than 100 Telugu movies and his first solo hit as a hero was Taj Mahal. Mahatma, Shankar Dada M.B.B.S., Kshemanga Velli Labhanga Randi, Egirey Pavurama, Ahvaanam, Maa Nannaki Pelli, Khadgam, Pellam vurelithe, Yemandoi Srivaru, Shankar Dada, Zindabad, Oh Chinadana, Vinodam, Swarabhishekam, Operation Duryodhana and Virodhi are the most memorable roles he played till now. Devaraya is his upcoming release.
