Spadikam George Biography

Spadikam George is a noted and well-established character artist of Malayalam cinema, best known for playing negative and inspector roles. He shot to fame after playing the antagonist in 1995 Malayalam cult classic – Spadikam. Since then Spadikam tag got permanently added to his name. Though Mohanlal played the lead hero in the blockbuster, it was villain who stole audience hearts. George has also essayed noted roles in Malayalam documentary films. Messenger is his most noted documentary role. Though known for his powerful screen presence, mostly as a villain, he has also done a few comic roles.

He is a native of Kottayam. He is married to Thresiamma and has 5 children. Currently he is settled in Bangalore with his family. He entered film scene in the late 1980s and some of his early roles are Swantham Ennu Karuthi, Postbox No 27, Moonnam Loka Pattalam etc. Yet 1995 movie Spadikam placed George among the most celebrated villains on Malayalam screen. There was no turning back after that. Ayiram Navulla Ananthan, Manthra Mothiram, Superman, Ee Pattanathil Bhootham, Yakshiyum Njanum, Maya Mohini, Proprietors: Kammath & Kammath, Lelam, Chandrolsavan, Kunjikoonan, Thenkasipattanam, Narasimham, Sathyameva Jayathe, Patram are among the memorable roles he played later.

Currently he is a religious person known for religious speeches. For the same reason he is avoiding negative roles in the past few years. Yet occasionally he appears as villain, due to lack of other roles offered.  He was seen in a positive role in a few recent releases like Blackberry. It has been almost 20 years since he started learning Bible. Though he started off delivering religious speeches during breaks from cinema, now he has been seriously involved with it.
