Sooraj Pancholi is a young actor from Bollywood, who debut with the 2015 film, Hero, a remark of 1983 classic with the same name starring Jackie Shroff. However the movie co-produced by Salman Khan was a huge flop. Sooraj is the son of famous Bollywood couple – Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. Before he made his entry to films, he was amidst of controversies and caught headlines of news media for his ex-relationship with Bollywood actress Jiah Khan following her death. Jiah hanged to herself when the relationship entered abruptly and Sooraj also went to jail for his involvement in Jiah's alleged suicide.

Sooraj was born into a family with filmy background. He was born on 9 November 1990 in Mumbai. Both his parents - Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab have played lead roles in many movies of 1980s and later. He has one sister, Sana Pancholi. Sooraj made his acting debut with Nikhil Advani’s Hero (2015). Actor Suniel Shetty’s daughter, Athiya Shetty played his female lead. His father Aditya Pancholi was also seen in this film. The movie was released amidst of Jiah Khan’s controversies, and even got delayed several times when Sooraj got jailed and other reasons. Salman Khan sang the title song, Mein Tera Hero for the movie, and was also featured in the song. The song went viral over net and was well received too.

Sooraj had a relationship with Jiah Khan of Nishabd fame, and she was pregnant with his child. Sooraj insisted on aborting the child, and he even physically abused several times. The breakup eventually led to Jiah’s death, and Sooraj caught news headlines for all wrong reasons. After the release of his debut film, he was later seen in a music video 'GF BF' which also featured Jacqueline Fernandez. The actor sees Salman Khan his godfather, who co-produced his debut film.
