Sonu (actress) Biography

Sonu, also known as Sruthi Ramakrishnan is a popular actress of south Indian cinema, who predominantly appears in Tamil and Kannada. Paramesha Panwala and Gulama are her popular Kannada movies. She made her debut in the Kannada film Inthi Ninna Preethiya (2008) and in Tamil her debut movie is Sivappu Mazhai (2010). She debut Malayalam opposite Mammootty in the movie – Best Actor. Then she played a cameo role in Mammootty’s Doubles. Her 2014 Malayalam release is 1 by Two. Thasaiyinai Thee Sudinum and Narathan are her upcoming Tamil movies. Two Kannada movies are set to release in 2014 – Goa and Half Mentalu. She is married to Manoj kumar, a close friend of Srinagar Kitty, the co-star of her first film Inthi Ninna Preethiya. They got married in 2010.

Her father Ramakrishnan is a make-up artist who has worked in the Kannada film industry. Her sister Neha Gowda is a television actress of Kannada language who has acted in television serials like Swathi Chinukulu and Lakshmi Baramma.Sonu’s schooling was completed at Carmel High School, Basaveshwaranagar, Bangalore. She joined film industry in the year 2008 with Kannada movie -  Inthi Ninna Preethiya. She played pivot role aside Srinagar Kitty and Bhavana. Then she played lead or second lead roles in Kannada movies like Police Quarters, Gulama and Paramesha Panwala before her Tamil debut in the year 2010. The movie was Sivappu Mazhai where she played second lead to Suresh Joachim and Meera Jasmine.

In 2010 she debut Malayalam with commercial hit, Best actor directed by Martin Prakatt. She played the role of a music teacher and wife of its lead actor, Mammootty. Her name was credited as Sruthi Ramakrishnan in this movie. Aanmai Thavarael, Sthreeshakthi, Amara and Dyaavre are her other movies released till now.
