Sonia Deepti Biography

Sonia Deepti is a popular Telugu actress. She appears in Tamil movies as well. Her debut movie, Happy Days, in which she played supporting role was a hit and gained her popularity. She won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her debut movie. She debut Tamil with hit movie, Payya in supporting role, where she starred aside Karthi and Tamannah. 

Sonia was born and brought up in Hyderabad. She was born on July 29, 1984. She completed her graduation in computer applications and worked as a software engineer in an IT company for three years before she reached films. It was just co-incidence that she was spotted by Sekhar Kammula, the director who gave her a role in the movie ‘Happy days’, released in 2007. She played the role of Shravs and the movie turned to be a blockbuster hit too. She got Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress and critics gave good reviews for her performance. Later she got a few more roles and thus she stayed in film world. Her second film Vinayakudu opposite Krishnudu was released in 2008. Krishnudu has already worked with her in the debut movie. The movie was a box office hit and she got film offers from Tamil. 

Paiyaa happened to be her debut Tamil movie. In 2010, Tamil remake of Happy days was released where she reprised her own role played in its Telugu version. She made guest appearance as Samantha's friend in 2011 Telugu hit movie Dookudu. Vinayakudu (2008), Brahmalokam to Yamalokam via Bhulokam (2010) and Mr. Manmadha (2013) are her other Telugu releases. Though she has appeared in several movies, both Telugu and Tamil, she is still remembered for her debut role in ‘Happy days’.
