Sonalee Kulkarni Biography

Sonalee Kulkarni is a popular Marathi actress, who made her Bollywood debut through 2013 comedy movie, Grand Masti. In this movie, she played the role of Ritesh Deshmukh’s wife who is always busy with her newborn baby. As a Marathi actress, she is most known for the movie, Natarang in 2009 in which she played lead role opposite Atul Kulkarni. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and she received critics’ appreciation for her role as a dancer in 2012 release Ajintha directed by Nitin Chandrakant Desai. She was the celebrity judge of television show, Naad Khula along with Mahesh Kothare.

 

Her full name is Sonalee Manohar Kulkarni. She was born in Pune on 18 May 1988. Both her parents, Manohar and Savinder Kulkarni have been associated with Indian Army. Her father served as a doctor in the Army Medical Corps. She studied in an Army school, Kendriya Vidyalaya New Delhi and was brilliant in her academics. She completed intermediate from Jr. College Fergusson Pune and took degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Indira School of Communication. She started learning classical dance at the age of 5.

 

She participated in beauty contests during her college days and very soon her face was noticed. She started receiving offers for ads and also did bit roles in Marathi movies. Kedar Shinde' film Bakula Namdev Ghotale in 2006 was her first noticed work which bagged her Zee Gaurav best actress role. Natarang in 2010 proved to be another noticed movie in her career and later she acted in movies like Irada Pakka, Ajintha, Samudra, Kshanbhar Vishranti etc. She regularly performs in stage shows and events.
