Sona Mohapatra Biography 
Sona Mohapatra is a singer, composer and lyricist of Indian movies. She is the wife of famous Bollywood music director – Ram Sampath who has composed songs of Delhi belly and Talaash. She has sung the super chartbuster song – Jiya lage naa of the movie – Talaash and is the top song sung by her up to date. She has aslo sung for a song in Delhi Belli, in her husband’s composition. She has also accompanied Shreya Ghoshal for the super hit song, Bahara bahara of I hate love stories. Sona Mohapatra and Ram Sampath are partners in their music production house Om Grown Music & own a music studio as well.
Sona performs live in many concerts and performs in foreign countries as well. She has been featured in albums, singles, concert webcasts, remixes, music videos, Bollywood films and advertisements. She has sung one song in Satyameva Jayathe, composed by her husband. The instant hit song was - Mujhe Kya Bechega Rupaiya, based on celebrating women’s freedom. The song has received over 5 million hits on YouTube till now. She has also sung the songs - Ghar Yaad Aata Hai Mujhe and Chanda Pe Dance for the same program.
As a playback singer, song of Talaash was the biggest breakthrough. Other popular tracks of Sona are – Lori of Family, Ambarsariya of Fukrey, Bedardi Raja of Delhi belly, Daav Laga of Aage se right and Chaayi Madhoshiyaan of Jumbo. Her noted compilations include - Afterglow (INXS song) of the album Love is, Abhi Nahin Anaa of Soulful sufi, Ishq Nachaya of Teri deewani and Aaja ve of Aao ji. Her studio album Sona with songs - Tere Ishq Nachaya , Abhi Nahin aana, Bolo Na and Aja Ve belong to her compilation list.
Sona is one among those artists of Orissa who became famous in Bollywood. She holds a BTech degree in Instrumentation & Electronics and MBA of HR as well. She has worked as the brand manager in Marico, before joining the industry. Songs of the television program ‘Satyameva Jayathe’ composed by her husband gave her big break to the industry.
