Soham Chakraborty Biography

Soham Chakraborty is a successful Bengali actor who started his career as a child artist in the late 1980’s with name, Master Bittu at the age of three. He has been a very popular child artist of Bengali screen. The movie, Chander Bari marked his adult actor debut and for the movie, "Bajimaat" (2008) he became a hero for the first time. As a hero, he owns several hits of which Prem Aamar (2009) and Amanush (2010) need special mention. His other movies are Loveria, Chander Bari, Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re, Atanga, Rohosso, Bojhena Shey Bojhena, Jibon Rong Berong, Le Halua Le, Bengali Babu English Mem, Jeena, Soldier, Ek Tukro Chand, Atanka, Kichu Paoya Kichu Chaoya and Janeman are other releases. His upcoming project is Hero Aar Herione Tumi Ami Chirodin. After Dev and Jeet, he is one of the most commercially successful actors of Bengali cinema.

Soham Chakraborty was born on 4 March 1984 in Kolkata. Chhoto Bou in 1987 marked his debut as a child artist when he was only 2 and a half year old. He worked in Shakha Proshakha in 1990, the movie by Satyajit Ray. After a few movies in the early 1990’s, he disappeared from the screen and later appeared only as an adult actor with middle 2000’s. He acted in Tarun Majumdar’s Chander Bari released in 2007. His next movie, "Bajimaat" the following year marked his debut as hero. The movie directed by Haranath Chakraborty was a commercial hit. Yet Soham didn’t imagine that he would make it big in film industry.

He repeated success the movie, Prem Aamar released in 2009, cementing his position among the young successful heroes of Bengali cinema. He received a nomination for best actor at Star Jalsha Entertaintment Award 2010 for his role in Amar Prem. He won the same for the movie, Amanush the next year.
