Sohail Khan Biography

Sohail Khan is the younger brother of Salman Khan and the son of great dialogue writer of yesterdays – Salim Khan. His second brother Arbaz Khan and sister in law, Mallika Arora Khan are successful celebrities of Bollywood. Actress Helen is his step mother. As an actor he has not been as successful as his brothers, yet audience is familiar with a few movies of him like Meine dil tujhko diya and Lakeer. His comic role as Pyare Mohan in his brother’s movie Meine pyar kyon kiya and as Bhalu in Blockbuster Jaane tu ya jaane naa needs special mention. He has been frequently casted in many leading actor, yet he need to prove his talent. He is the producer of successful movies of his brother ‘Partner’ and ‘Ready’.

He has been the part of success movies like Krishna Cottage and his role in Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Mr and Mrs.Khanna was well appreciated though the movie was not successful in box office. As a director, he has directed his brothers in the movies ‘Hello Brother’ and ‘Pyar kiya to darna kya’. Other directorial ventures include Meine dil tujhko diya where he did leading hero role opposite Sameera Reddy, Auzaar where Salman Khan, Sanjay Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty played leading roles and Mental, that’s to be released soon. Again, Salman Khan plays leading role in this movie. As a producer he has financed many Khan movies including Partner, Lucky: No time to love, God tussi great ho, Mr and Mrs. Khanna and Ready. As a writer, he has written the script of Pyar kiya to darna kya, Hello brother and Fight club.

Sohail Khan was born in Mumbai in 1970 as the son of Salim Khan and Salma. Born in a family, he stepped into Bollywood producing and directing his elder brother Salman Khan in the movie ‘Auzaar’. Perhaps it’s the only movie acted by Salman Khan where he has no heroine. Except the copied song, ‘Are baba’ people forgot everything. Yet, his second movie as director and writer ‘Pyar kiya to darna kya’ was moderate success. It marked the debut of Arbaz Khan as an actor and for the first time, three brothers worked together. Their combination in different roles was experimented in a series of movies and successes and failures are almost equal. As a hero, his other movies include Fight club, Aryan, I-Proud to be an Indian and Salaam-E-Ishq.
