Sofia Hayat is a model, singer and actress of British nationality. But she is of Indian origin. She works in Indian entertainment industry too. She was a wild card entry on the seventh season of the reality show Bigg Boss in 2013, aside Candy Brar, Asif Azim, Ajaz Khan and Vivek Mishra. She was also seen in the Bollywood film, Diary of a Butterfly (2012) starring Udita Goswami. Most recently she shocked everyone entering the spiritual world and she has now become a nun. Sofia has also accepted a new name, Mother Sofia. She has also posted her new photos without makeup in her Instagram account. Hayat became a saint on 23rd May 2016. She was earlier in a relationship with Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma.

Sofia Hayat is of British nationality and South Asian descent. She was born into a Muslim family. Different sources cite contradictory birth dates. Some sources report it to be 1974, while others 1984. She completed graduation in Music and Performing Arts, and later studied acting for long 7 years. She likes Meisner Technique of acting which she has studied also. A top model and singer, she was listed at position 81 in FHM sexiest women September 2013 edition. Hayat was named the new "Curvy Icon" by Vogue Italia in July 2012. She started her acting career at the age of 16.

She came to spotlight for the first time when she hosted a TV show for ZEE TV in 2003 which became quite popular among young British Indian audience. This British Asian actress made her Bollywood debut at the age of 26 with 2012 film, Diary of a Butterfly. She played the character role of Carol in this Bollywood flop, which received poor response from critics. Yet she was quite busy with her modelling assignments. She has been featured in TV ads of international brands like Walkers Crisps, McDonalds etc. Her Muslim parents disapproved her doing modelling, and accepting Western life style. ‘Dishonoured’ is her debut music album.
