Sindhu Tolani Biography

Sindhu Tolani is a South Indian actress who has also worked in Bollywood. She belongs to Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is a successful model too and quite popular with Fair & Lovely ad. She made her film debut through Telugu movie, Aithe in 2003. Before that she has done a bit role in 2000 Shahrukh Khan movie of Yash Raj films, Mohabbatein where she played the role of Ishika's Friend. She made her Tamil debut through the bombed movie, Sullan in 2004 where she played the lead role opposite Dhanush. However she gained appreciation for the negative role she played in her next Tamil flick, Manmadan. She played the pivot role of Vaishnavi, the classmate of innocent Madan who betrays him. The role was played by Silambarasan. Currently she mostly concentrates on Telugu film industry and has also appeared in lead roles in Telugu and Tamil films.

Sindhu started her career with low-budget Telugu movie, Aithe which helped to achieve limelight. She played the supporting role in the thriller which starred Shashank, Pavan Malhotra and Mohit Chadda in pivot roles. The movie received National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu – 2004. Very soon she appeared in all the south Indian language movies except Malayalam. She bagged the lead role of Sullan which starred Dhanush in lead role. Dhanush had just become a popular actor of Tamil with a string of hits including Kadhal Kondein and Thulluvadho Ilamai. However this movie was a terrible flop at box office. But ‘Manmadhan’ released the same year helped her to remain in limelight and she bagged a few title roles as well.

She played title roles in Tamil movies - Pandhayam and Alaiyadikkuthu. But she couldn’t achieve success. She also did special appearance in Vikram starrer Majaa. In 2007 she made her Bollywood debut through 50 Lakh. In 2012, her Telugu movie Ishq earned her a nomination at SIIMA awards for best supporting actress. Bathukamma is another noted Telugu movie. She also appears in television serials.
