Siddharth Menon Biography

Siddharth Menon is an Indian playback singer associated with Kerala’s No: 1 rock band - Thaikkudam Bridge. The band was formed in 2013 by Siddharth and his cousin Govind Menon. Though he has rendered his voice for many Malayalam film songs, he became extremely popular through the song - "Mandaracheppundo" from the movie Dasharatham (1991) for a musical show "Music Mojo" in the popular channel Kappa TV. The song was composed by Thaikkudam Bridge and became one of the breakthrough moments of this band. The original version was sung by M. G. Sreekumar for Mohanlal. The band’s own composition "Fish Rock" became popular through social media networking sites and you tube and resulted in establishing Thaikkudam Bridge as the most popular Malayalam band in the recent times.

 

Siddharth Menon was born in a Mumbai to Malayali parents in 1989. His father hail from Irinjalikkuda, Thrissur, and mother from Vaikkom, Kottayam settled in Mumbai. Siddharth’s childhood and younger days were in Mumbai. He has an elder brother Sharad Menon, who is a scientist in US. After graduation, Siddharth decided to learn western music and joined A. R. Rahman’s institute at Chennai. He, along with his music troupe Nirmitee participated in Sony TV reality show, X Factor India, where they finished as finalists.

 

He joined hands with his first cousin Govind Menon who composed songs for the musical show "Music Mojo" in Kappa TV, a youth oriented channel. Govind also recreated evergreen Malayalam classics and named it ‘Nostalgia’. Siddharth sang "Mandharachepundo", for one of the episodes and the rest in history! The song became viral over net and the cousin brothers formed the music band – Thaikkudam Bridge, which includes many artists right now.

 

Siddharth turned a playback singer with the song, "Tharangal" for North 24 Kaatham and later rendered his voice to songs like "Thumbi Penne" of Bangalore days, "Kaanal Kaate" of Haram, "Theruvukal" of Njan Steve Lopez and many more.
