Siddharth Gupta Biography

Siddharth Gupta is an upcoming actor of Bollywood cinema, best known for playing the male protagonist in the critically acclaimed Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, released in 2013. The movie was directed by national award winning ad-filmmaker Aman Sachdeva and produced by Ekta Kapoor & Bejoy Nambiar. Simran Kaur Mundi played the female lead opposite him and the movie included an ensemble cast of young actors. He also hosted the TV show Yeh Hai Aashiqui, along with Rithvik Dhanjani the following year. His brother, Vikas Gupta is the programming head of MTV India.

Siddharth was brought up in Dehradun. He completed his engineering studies from Dubai. He was only 17 when he got the first break to Bollywood. He was studying in Dubai when he was offered the title role of Kuku – a middle class boy in Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi in 2013. He took a break from studies and returned to Dubai after the completion of the film. He is a qualified engineer right now. The movie and the actor received positive reviews from critics and Siddharth has already signed a three-film contract with Balaji Films.

Siddharth wanted to become an actor and so he joined theatre. Ekta Kapoor watched Siddharth in a play – Hero at Juhu's Prithvi theatre in 2013 and once she watched this young actor on stage, she finalized him for her next film. But she didn’t known then, he was the younger brother of Vikas Gupta,the programming head of MTV India , who has worked with her earlier. He also bagged a 3-film contract with Ekta’s Balaji films. Ekta finds him as a cute actor.
