Shriya Saran Biography 
Shriya Saran is an Indian film actress and model and she worked in various regional industries of Indian film such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayam, Kannada and even English. She was born on 11th September 1982 in Dehradun and often known as Shriya. Her first film debut was Ishtam in the year 2001 and first box office hit was Telugu film Santhosham in the year 2002.
Her parents are Pushpendra Saran and Neeraja Saran. Her father worked in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. She completed her schooling in Delhi Public School, Haridwar where her mother was working as a chemistry teacher. Then she joined Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi and got her Bachelors’ degree in Literature. Her only brother Athiroop is settled in Mumbai.
The films of her earlier days of entry into the cinema industry are Santosham, Chennakeshava Reddy, Nuvve Nuvve, and Tagore. Her Hindi debut was Tujhe Meri Kasam and in Telugu, Neeku Nenu Naakku Nuvvu. Her Tamil debut was Enakku 20 Unakku 18. She had to face many ups and down in the year from 2004 to 2007. Her Telugu film Chatrapati earned her first Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award.
She came back to Tamil film industry through the film Mazhai. This was not received well. She starred in Sivaji: The Boss in the year 2007 which was a huge hit at that time. This gave her a break and acted in so many Tamil films after that like Kandhaswamy, Kutty, Chikku Bukku, Rowthiram and Uthamabuthiran.
Shriya Saran is very interested in social works and a long time patron for the blind people. She gave a lecture to the students at the Indian Institute of Management Ahamedabad in 2010 February 12. Her modeling career started with the advertisement for Ponds cream, and starred in various other products like Coca-cola, Fair & Lovely. She is the brand ambassador of Saravana Stores and Lux. She opened a spa in which she appointed only the visually challenged. She also takes part in many child benefit programs.
