Shraddha Srinath Biography

Shraddha Srinath is a south Indian film actress, known for Kohinoor (2015) and U Turn (2016). A legal adviser turned actress, she made her film debut through the Malayalam flick Kohinoor in 2015 in a supporting role. Though she quit her job to join films through a Kannada film, the movie got shelved. Now she is to debut Kannada films with U Turn, which is directed by Pawan Kumar of Lucia fame.  

She was born and brought up in Bangalore. She was born to an army officer, and her mother is a teacher. After completing LLB she specialized in real estate law and worked with the law Department at Decathlon, Bangalore. Though associated with Law, she has been active in theatre. She always dreamt to become an actress. Yet she didn’t quit the job as earning from theater was not so great. She continued her professional career for two years before she decided to quit. In 2007, when she participated in the May Queen beauty pageant at the RSI Club at Secunderabad, she finished among top 5.

Worked as a legal adviser at a sports firm, she called it quit. It was her association with theatre which earned her first movie. But due to financial problems her movie got shelved and she continued with modelling and appeared in a few ads. That’s how she got her first film – Kohinoor. Shradha went viral after she starred in a hard-hitting photo series on LGBT issues — Coming Out. She played one of the protagonists in the series that captured a relationship between two women, and her role became extremely popular. Though she had several sleepless nights for her decision to quit the secure job, now she is a successful youngster.
