Shital Shah Biography

Shital Shah is a noted television actress of Gujarati entertainment industry, who now has entered film direction field. Kahani Chandrakanta Ki and Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek — Arjun are her popular shows as a television actress. She was also seen in Bollywood films such as My Friend Ganesha, Kram and The Flag. Shital played protagonist Ahsaas Channa’s quarrelling mother’s role in the popular animated film – My friend Ganesha. Shital is to make her Gujarati film debut as a film director with the film - Hu Tu Tu Tu. Shah is on cloud nine these days as the trailer of her Hindi film - Parcham - The Flag was screened at Cannes 2015. She is also a painter and conducts exhibition.

Shital belongs to Amravati, Gujarat. She holds an MBA degree. She is a trained Odissi dancer and performer and has been actively involved with theatre before she moved to television and cinema. As a stage actress she has performed for more than 150 shows. She started learning Odissi at the age of three. She considers the veteran actor Paresh Rawal as her mentor and she has got opportunity to perform in plays. She has always admired the work of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and regrets that she will never get an opportunity to work with him.

She played the role of Radha in the film - Parcham - The Flag which was screened at Cannes 2015. Set in Bhuj, the movie directed by Sajeev Balath also starred Ashmit Patel, Milind Soman, Rahul Dev and Vijay Raaz in the pivot roles. The film tells about the struggles of pre-independent India. Till now she has worked with many leading Bollywood directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Neeraj Pandey. She currently works at International Centre for Entrepreneurship & Career Development (ICECD), co-founded by her mother. Her upcoming movie, Hu Tu Tu Tu is produced by her mother Hina Shah and her sister Shaina Shah works as the creative director.
