Shiney Ahuja Biography

Shiney Ahuja is a Bollywood actor and former model, who has been in news with rape case of his maid in 2010. His best movies include his debut movie – Hazarom khwashiyein aisi and critically well acclaimed film Gangster. His other movies include Woh lamhe, Karam, Sins, Zindagi rocks, Life in a metro and Khoya khoya chand. He was most successful with Kangana Ranaut with whom he did two movies in the year 2006 – Woh lamhe and gangster. Both movies were critically well acclaimed and music was also well noted.  

Born in New Delhi, Shiney Ahuja did his schooling in Ranchi. During his college days, he was attracted towards theatre and drama and he began to attend workshops of National school of Drama. Later due to his interest, he joined theatres during late 90’s. Then he joined Barrey John’s acting school to study seriously. His good looks helped him to become a successful model. He used to feature in many music albums and ramp shows, from where director Mahesh Bhatt picked him for doing movies.  

In Hazarom khwashiyein aisi (2003), he played the role of Vikram Malhotra. His brilliant performance helped him to earn best debut male award at Filmfare. Later he had to wait for a couple of years to get his next role. Two movies were released in 2006, surprisingly it happened to be the first two movies of actress Kangana Ranaut and producer was Mahesh Bhatt. When Mahesh Bhatt made a movie on his relationship with yesterday actress Parveen Babi, Shiney Ahuja was casted in the leading role. He played the role of film director in the movie. The song ‘Kyo aaj kum mujhe neend’ and its remix version, pictured on the leading actors became a smash hit. Songs of Gangster like ‘Ya Ali’ and ‘Bheegi bheegi’ composed by Preetham were huge hits. In the movie Gangster he did the role of a gangster who falls in love with Kangana Ranaut and how Emraan Hashmi succeeds in reaching him with the help of Kangana. This movie was a turning point in the acting career of Ahuja and his role was well appreciated and won critics award too.

He was in the peak of his career when he was accused by rape case. Thus the image of this upcoming actor fell down so steep and most of his projects are delayed and not released.
