Shilpa Shukla Biography

Shilpa Shukla is an Indian actress associated with films, theatre and television. She has been a successful model too. As a Bollywood actress, she is best known for the movie ‘Chak de India’, where she was included in the Girls’ hockey team and was casted along with King Khan of Bollywood. She received Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for the year 2013. She won this award for her critically acclaimed role in Bollywood neo-noir film B. A. Pass. She also received Screen awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role (Female) for the same movie, in which she appeared as a seductress.

She was born in Vaishali in 1982 and brought up in Delhi where she completed her school studies and graduation. She also spent her childhood days in Kolkata and Gujarat. She started her acting career as a theatre artist with M. K. Raina, noted personality. She has also worked with noted theater personalities like Arvind Gaur, Govind Deshpande, Girish Karnad and Mahesh Dattani before making her film debut. She made her film debut with the critically acclaimed Khamosh Pani in 2003. She also appeared in 2004 critically acclaimed movie of Sudhir Mishra, Hazarom Khwaishein Aise.

She grabbed quick attention through Chak De! India in 2007, where she appeared as an arrogant and stubborn girl. She received Best Supporting Actress award at Star screen awards and a Filmfare nomination for this role. She later appeared in Frozen (2007), Bhindi Baazaar Inc. (2011), Rockstar (2011), Rajdhani Express (2013) and B.A. Pass (2013). She played the role of Nargis Fakhri’s sister-in-law in Bollywood hit Rock star.
