Shenaz Treasurywala Biography

Shenaz Treasurywala is a model, actress and writer. She has been a successful VJ of MTV India since late 1990’s and one of the most popular faces of Indian fashion industry. She is equally successful as a travel writer. She debut Bollywood big screen with successful movie, Ishq Vishq opposite Shahid Kapoor in 2002. Later she appeared in lead role in Umar and did supporting roles in movies like Delhi Belly, Luv Ka The End, Radio and Aagey Se Right. She also did a cameo appearance in Bollywood hit – Hum Tum. She also appeared in popular American soap opera, One Life to Live during the period 2011-2013. ‘Gold spot’ soft drink was her first television commercial.

She was born in a Parsi family in Mumbai. In 2001 she did a method-acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York and did a writing course at NYU. Later she did some television ads and also worked as a VJ for MTV's Most Wanted show. Her acting debut happened in the 2001 Telugu film Edhuruleni Manishi. But it was Ishq Vishq which earned her appreciation and also a Filmfare nomination for best supporting actress. The director, Ken Ghosh spotted her at a Mumbai night club and offered her the role.

She has been one of the most popular MTV VJs whose fan mail used to clog mailbox. She has been a part of one of the most popular shows of MTV - ‘MTV Bakra’ which played big pranks on victims. This beautiful model has posed as cover girl for many leading magazines too. She has been the poster girl for monsoon special edition of Savvy Magazine. She was interested in becoming an air hostess with Singapore Airlines. But she finally got stuck on MTV.
