Shashank Manohar Biography 
Shashank Manohar is presently the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Chairman of ICC. He is a lawyer by profession. He was elected unopposed for the second time to the position following the death of former President of BCCI, Jagmohan Dalmiya. Earlier too, he has served the same position during the period - 2008 to 2011. Shashank Manohar has earned the credit of 'Best president BCCI’ ever had. Shashank owns several achievements during his tenure as President of The Board of Control of Cricket. India became the No 1 Test side & won the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup under his administration. The launch of the IPL and the BCCI's growth into a multi-billion-dollar organisation are other achievements.
He was born in Nagpur on 29 September 1957 to V. R. Manohar, a former advocate general of Maharashtra & Sandhya Manohar. He is married to Varsha Manohar and has one son Adwait Manohar. He holds an LLB degree and is a prominent lawyer by profession. He gained prominence in the cricket fraternity after he took over the charge of Vidarbha Cricket Association in 1996. Often labeled as an introvert or a man who talks less, he is known for his actions than words and owns a '"Mr.Clean"' image in the cricket fraternity. He was less inclined towards marketing and concentrated on powerful administration for better results.
Manohar made the headlines for the first time for his spat with Ganguly in 2004, which eventually ended in the surprise retirement of the cricketer in an unhappy manner. His had a significant role during Sharad Pawar's reign during 2005 and 2008 and also, the suspension of Lalit Modi which gained attention. Major achievements of Dhoni as a captain including World Cup 2011 were during his tenure.
