Sharran Kumar Biography

Sharran Kumar is a Tamil film actor who made his film debut with 2010 film Inidhu Inidhu, a campus film. After a few misses, he gained public attention and critics positive responses with two hits back to back - Charles Shafiq Karthiga (2015) and Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam (2016). He was launched to movies by Prakash raj along with a group of young actors in Inidhu Inidhu. It was a remake of successful and award-winning 2007 Telugu film Happy Days, produced by Prakash Raj and directed by K. V. Guhan, where Sharran Kumar played one of the parallel leads. The movie also introduced Adith Arun, Vimal, Narayan Lucky, Reshmi Menon, Sonia Deepti and Anjala Zaveri to big screen. However the movie was a box office failure.

 

After a few struggling years, he gained attention and positive reviews from critics through his latest release - Charles Shafiq Karthiga, where he played the male lead opposite Jai Quehaeni. It was his second film with ‘Inidhu Inidhu’ team Vimal, Narayan and crew. The 2015 Tamil thriller film directed by S. Sathiyamoorthy had a low-key release but won positive reviews after its release. He played the title role – Charles an aspiring young cricketer who wants to play for Chennai Super Kings. The movie also included Mishal, Narayan and Vimal.

 

After his debut in 2010 flick Inidhu Inidhu, he appeared in a few low budget films - Vaada Poda Nanbargal (2011) and Pathirama Pathukkunga (2012) where he played male lead. Isakki and Uyirukku Uyiraaga were his next two releases which went unnoticed. With a much win-win situation, he signed the film - Charles Shafiq Karthiga which gathered him positive signs for the first time. His latest release is Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam, where he played second lead. The movie also starred Balakrishna Kola and Wamiqa Gabbi.
