Shalini Pandey is a budding actress associated with Telugu films, who shot to fame after playing the lead role in highly acclaimed film of 2017, Arjun Reddy. She was paired with Vijay Deverakonda for this film which received an overwhelming response from critics and audience. Formerly a theatre artist, Arjun Reddy marked her debut onscreen, and she became a star overnight after the success of the film. She has bagged two more projects in south Indian languages - multilingual Mahanati co-staring her Arjun Reddy co-star where she plays a supporting role of journalist and Tamil film, 100 Percent Kaadhal.

Shalini Pandey is a Hindi-speaking girl from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. She was born on 23 September 1993. She did her engineering from Global Engineering College, Jabalpur. She was not interested to pursue a career in the field she took her academic degree and wanted to become an actress. So, while doing her second year at college, she started doing theatre in her hometown itself. Prior to her entry in films, she has appeared in a Hindi television series on Sony Television, Mann Mein Vishwaas Hai. It was not an easy task for her to convince her parents to take acting as career, as she was brilliant in academics. Yet she finally managed so.

She made her Tollywood debut in the lead role with the hit movie, Arjun Reddy in 2017. Though she is not familiar with any south Indian language, she dubbed herself for the role. Variously hailed as being the most original film to being called raw, pure, bold, intense and well written, the small film was a smash hit and earned a cult classic status. After making a sensational debut in this film, Shalini has been flooded with offers, from both the Telugu and Tamil industries. As expectations are high, she want to choose wisely some of the best roles.
