Shakti Singh Biography

Shakti Singh, also called Shaktee Singh is a popular television and film actor, known for portraying supporting and character roles. He is also known as a voice actor and dubbing artist of the industry. Apart from dubbing foreign movies to Hindi, he also dubs for Indian artists with poor Hindi dictation. As a popular television actor, he is quite popular through the role of Dayal Garg in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and the show is currently aired on ZEE TV since 2012. Byomkesh Bakshi on Doordarshan, Crime Patrol on Sony TV, Revjibhai in Gulal and Kyunki Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi (portrayed the role of Mansukh Virani) are his popular television works.

 

Shakti Singh was born on 9 October 1955. A-grade dubbing artist, Shakti Singh has dubbed for several actors from Anthony Hopkins to Mel Gibso. He frequently dubs for American artist George Clooney for its Hindi version. He has dubbed for both live action films and animated films. Started his dubbing career in the late 1980s, some of his noted works include - Tommy Lee Jones for Men in Black 1, Pierce Brosnan for Golden Eye and Tomorrow Never Dies, Hugo Weaving for The Matrix and The Matix Reloaded, Geoffrey Rush for Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of The Black Pearl, Willem Dafoe for Spiderman Part-1 and many more.

 

He has also dubbed for many south Indian films (to Hindi). He dubbed for Arvind Swamy for Hindi versions of Roja and Bombay. He has dubbed for more than 50 films. Known as a character artist on small screen, he has also worked as an assistant director of Hindi cinema. He is associated with entertainment industry since late 1980s.
