Shakti Mohan Biography

Shakti Mohan is a contemporary dancer and winner of Zee TV's dance reality show Dance India Dance's season 2. She has appeared in dance numbers of Akshay Kumar Movies – Title track of Tees mar Khan (2010) and "Aa Re Pritam Pyaare" of Rowdy Rathod. She has also played a character of Kria in the daily soap Dil Dosti Dance on Channel [V] where she is paired opposite Kunwar Amar.


Shakti was born on 12 October 1985 in Mumbai as the daughter of Brijmohan and Kusum. The family is originally from Delhi, now settled in Mumbai. She has three sisters of whom two are very popular right now - Neeti Mohan and Mukti Mohan. Neeti Mohan is the latest music sensation of Bollywood with chartbuster songs – Jiya jiya re of Jab tak hai jaan and Ishqwala love of The Student of the year. She was also the winner of Channel [V] Popstars 2 – AASMA and participated in Shankar's Rockstars in the show - Music Ka Maha Muqqabla where the team emerged as winners. Mukti Mohan is also a contemporary dancer who was a part of the winning team 'Masakkali Girls' of dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha. She is a Bollywood actress too and along with Kapil Sharma, she won Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo.


Shakti Mohan studied from Birla Balika Vidyapeeth and later took MA politics from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She dreamt to become an IAS Officer. But Dance India Dance show changed everything. She joined Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust and took a diploma in dance in the year 2009. She was noticed by Terence Lewis at St. Xavier’s College. Shakti Mohan was the first Indian to be chosen by the Worldwide BBC Collaboration Culture and was Face of an International Germany based Airline.
