Shadaab Khan Biography

Shadaab Khan is an unsuccessful star son of Bollywood. He is the son of great actor of yesterdays – Amjad Khan who has given new definitions to Indian cinema through the roles he played through Sholay, Yarana, Kalia, Muquaddar ka sikander etc. His launch to Bollywood was not a bad kick. He debut Bollywood with Radha ki aayegi baarat in the year 1996, opposite another debutant – none other than Rani Mukherjee. Though the movie flopped at box office, Rani Mukherjee could attain big success in Bollywood and become no.1 actress as well. However, despite having good looks and passion for acting, Shadaab Khan lost his path somehow somewhere. His maternal grandfather was Akhtar ul iman, a very famous writer and he has written the scripts of the movies - Itefaq and Waqt.

Shadaab Khan was born on September 20, 1973 as the son of Amjad Khan and Shaila Khan. He is married to Rumana Achwa. They got married in 2005. From 1996 to 2008 Shadaab Khan starred only in few films, without any notable success. Among the roles he played, the role of Altaf Tailor in Kamal Hassan’s bi-lingual movie, Hey Ram (2000) is the only noticeable performance. In this movie, he played the brief role of Altaf who rapes Rani and finally gets killed by Kamal. This was for the second time he worked with Rani. He has also appeared in movies like J.P.Dutta’s Refugee, Harry Baweja’s Betaabi and Bharat bhagya vidhata. He worked with Chandrachur Singh in a couple of movies – Betaabi and Bharat bhagya vidhata. Anjana Zaveri and Arshad Warsi also starred in the movie Betaabi that was released on 1997.

From the school days itself, the dream and passion of Shadaab Khan was to write a script and become a film director than concentrating on acting. He was interested in writing from his childhood days and his writings were not kid fantasies. Yet he was interested in acting as well. Meghna Gulzar and Twinkle Khanna were his classmates at school. He was a college drop out. His full interest was in cinema only. He was to do the movie, Himalaya putra that happened to be the debut movie of Vinod Khanna’s son – Akshay Khanna. But he opted out.

He has made a comeback as a director in 2010 with the movie Highway 203. His project, Sandhya made in the year 2003 is yet to get released.
