Sawarn Singh Virk Biography
Sawarn Singh Virk is an Indian sportsman who competes in the single scull events. He was shot into limelight when he was qualified for the 2012 London Olympics in Men’s single scull event.
He was born on 20th February 1990 in Dalewala Mansa in Punjab. He is coached by Ismail Baig and he practices regularly at Hussain Sagar Lake. So he shifted to Hyderabad for getting good training. He has won gold medal in the Jharkhand National Games.
After winning the FISA Olympic Continental Qualification Regatta for Asia held at Chung Ju in Korea, he got ticket to participate in 2012 Olympics. In Olympics he got fourth place in the quarterfinals and lost the chance of competing in the main semifinal round. He came second in the semifinal at the Eton Dorney Rowing Center.
