Saumya Tandon Biography 
Saumya Tandon is an Indian actress and television host. She played the role of Roop, Kareena Kapoor’s sister in 2007 blockbuster hit – Jab we met. Dance India Dance, Comedy Circus 3 - Teen Ka Tadka, Bournvita Quiz Contest and Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout are the popular game shows co-hosted by Tandon. She co-hosted Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, aside the superstar of Bollywood King Khan. She has also hosted events like 57th National Film Awards, Zee Rishtey Awards 2009 and Vodafone Awards night – 2013. She is also a poet and her published poetry collections, Meri Bhavnayein which was nominated for Modi young writer national award.
She belongs to Bhopal and was born in the year 1979. Her schooling was completed at Ujjain and MBA from the Fore School of Management. Her father was a writer and professor who served as HOD of English at Vikram University in Ujjain. Saumya too has published her books on poetry. She recited poems on radio channels and Doordarshan at a younger age. She started modelling at a younger age. Later she moved to television where she got success through quiz shows. She is the first female quiz master of India and has successfully anchored many shows like Bournvita Quiz Contest with Derek O'Brien on Colors Television.
Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, Dance India Dance (all the three seasons), Comedy Circus Ke Taansen and Mallika-E-Kitchen-on air (Season 2-3-4) are other popular shows. She played lead role in television series Aisa Des Hai Mera, aired in 2006. She played Kareena Kapoor’s sister in jab we met. Though she got similar roles later, she didn’t accept any. She has acted in one Punjabi movie - “Welcome to Punjab”.
