Satyajeet Puri Biography
Satyajeet Puri, known as Master Satyajeet was a popular child star of Bollywood in the 1970s. He is
yesteryear actor Daljeet Puri’s son. He was seen as young Dev anand in 1971 blockbuster Hare Rama
Hare Krishna and he sync lipped the popular song – Phoolon ka taron ka, a song which is popular even
today. A popular child artist of early 1970s, he acted in Anuraag (1972), Bidaai (1974), Paheli (1977) and
Hari Darshan (1972), portraying the role of grandchild of Ashok Kumar, Durga Khote and Leela Mishra in
these movies. His bonding with Dadamoni in Anurag is spectacular to watch. He received National award
for best child artist for this performance.
He played the role of Bhakt Prahlad in Hari Darshan, one of his outstanding performances up-to-date.
The devotional track, ‘Jai Jai Narayan Narayan Hari Hari‘ was pictured on him. In the late 1980s, he
appeared as an adult actor portraying character roles and in 1994 he portrayed a negative shaded role in
Dulaara. He gave up acting after Zameer in 1997. He is planning to make a comeback to the film industry
as a director. Arjun (1985), Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Hathyar (1989) and Shola Aur Shabnam (1992)
are some of his Bollywood appearances. He is indeed successful as a Rajasthani actor and his debut
movie as a hero - Mhari Pyari Chanana (1983) was the first Rajasthani movie to complete 25 weeks in
theatre.
He was born on 25 September 1960 as the son of actor Daljeet Puri and Bengali singer Ashita Puri. He
completed schooling from Juhu and graduation from Mithibai College. His younger sister Deepali is
married to film actor, Puneet Issar – known for negative roles.
