Satheesh Menon Biography

Satheesh Menon is an Indian actor who concentrates on Malayalam cinema. Dubai, Arabikatha, Red Wine, Mizhikal Sakshi and Diamond Necklace are among his memorable roles. He is also a stage actor and television actor and quite active in theatre world. He has won numerous stage awards for his performance recognised by leading film and theatre personalities - Amol Palekar & Narendra Prasad. He has been active in theatre circles while he was working in Middle East. Menon was bestowed the 'Pravasi Abhinaya Prathiba Award' in 2000.

Satheesh Choppullil Menon was born on 10th May 1950 in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur to Capt. T Balachandran and Choppulil Kumudam. He schooled at Govt. Model Boy's High School, Irinjalakuda and completed graduation from Christ College, Irinjalakuda. He has been active in extracurricular activities since his school days and has been appreciated since then. He was an active NCC cadet at school. In 1979 he moved to Gulf and spent 35 years in Middle East. During this time he has been active as a stage actor. In the 1990s he also worked as a voice actor for television ads. At the same time he worked as Accounts Manager at the Marbella Resort in Sharjah. Gym and swimming are his other passions.

Uthrarayanapakshi, Kunjali Marakkar, Onnam Sakshi, Samathalangal and Ponnuvilayicha thampuram are among his noted plays as a stage actor. He has been a part of Documentaries, video films, ad jingles etc. Malayalam movie - Arabikatha in 2007 was his real breakthrough. Since then he is active in Malayalam film field portraying character artist role.  He is married to Sunanda and the couple has two daughters and one son.
