Santhoshi Biography

Santhoshi Mohannraj, known by her screen name Santhoshi is a noted actress associated with Tamil entertainment industry. She appears in both Tamil films and television shows. Bala, Jai and Honeymoon Express are her noted film roles, and she earned fame on small screen through the TV series Arasi. She also played supporting roles in Telugu films - Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005) and Bangaram (2006), and bagged Nandi Award for Best Female Comedian for 2005 film, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. She marked her film debut in 2001, and stayed in film industry till 2010. Later she switched over to small screen, playing many popular roles.

She was born on 31 March 1987 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her mother Poornima is a television actress. Her father’s name is Gopala Krishna Moorthy. In fact she appeared as a child artist in TV shows aside her mother during her younger days. She was 8 years old then. She was seen in a few TV roles in the early 2000s. In 2002 she marked her film debut through Rajinikanth starrer Baba, where she played younger sister of Manisha Koirala. After that she got many supporting roles on big screen. Later she played teenager roles in Aasai Aasaiyai, Bala, Maaran and Military, before doing adult roles.

In 2003 she played second lead in Unnai Charanadaindhen, followed by Kadhal Samrajyam. She marked her Telugu film debut through Jai (2004) and Kannada film debut through Honeymoon Express (2006). She played female lead in both. However she reverted to supporting roles, and got noticed. Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana is her most popular film role in Telugu cinema. Started her television journey as a child artist, with 2007 she moved to adult roles. She played female lead in Arasi, Ilavarasi and many more popular shows on small screen. She played female lead in Maragatha Veenai, aired on Sun TV during 2014-2017.
