Sanjaya Nayak Biography

Sanjaya Nayak is one of the top and most successful film directors of Oriya. He writes screenplay as well as lyrics for films. He produced and directed Keun Duniaru Asila Bandhu which is the first science fiction in Oriya. He founded a film production house, 'Sanjay Nayak Films' and makes movies under this banner. In the career spanning to 8 years, he has directed 21 films till now. Sanjay Nayak is nominated for the Limca Book of World Records for making censor of two films Dil Tate Deichi and Sasura Ghara Jindabad of same director (himself), same producer (Uttam Chand Jain), same actor (Sabyasachi) and same cameraman on same day. Perhaps a unique and interesting record in the history of world cinema!  He has worked with Siddhanta Mahapatra in 8 of his 21 movies.

Sanjaya is an experimental and new generation director of Oriya movies. He started with his experiments from his first movie itself. He presented 100 scorpions in his 2nd movie, Rahichi rahibi tori payeen using graphics. With the movies, Dharmara Heba Jaya and Tate mo Rana he experimented with the leading male character. His movie, Keun Duniaru Asila Bandhu was the first Oriya movie to show an alien. He has also done experiments with animals and magic for the movies, Babu I love You, To Bina Mo Kahani Adha, To Payeen Nebi Mu Sahe Janama and De Maa Shakti De. His child sentiment movies are Rahichi rahibi tori payeen and To Payeen Nebi Mu Sahe Janama, where child actors played lead roles.

He has also scripted and directed a few television serials. His award winning movies are Rahichi Rahibi Tori Payeen in 2003, Sakhi Rahila Ae Singha Duarain 2004, Babu I love You in 2006, To Payeen Nebi Mu Sahe Janamain 2007, Mu Sapanara Soudagara in 2008, Keun Dunia Ru Asila Bandhu and Pagala Karichi Paunji Tora in 2009.
