Sanjay Suri Biography

Sanjay Suri is a leading actor of Bollywood as well as a successful model. He has produced a few movies as well. Among all his movies, his role in Jhankar beats, Bus ek pal, Filhaal, Sorry bhai, Pinjar, Shadi ka ladoo, Speed, My brother Nikhil, Pyar mein kabhi kabhi and I am are noted most. In supporting roles, he has acted in Chalo ishq ladaye, Plan, Doop, Tera jaadu chal gaya, Heroine and Daman: A victim of Marital violence.

Sanjay Suri was born in Kashmir in the year 1971. He was a star squash player during his childhood days. In 1990, when he lost his father in a terror attack, the family moved to Jammu and later to Delhi. When he finally settled in Delhi, he began to see modeling seriously. His good looks helped a lot to get a few ads. Among the ads, ads of Gillette, Nescafe and Nilkamal Furniture were quite popular. He debut Bollywood through Pyar mein Kabhi kabhi in 1999. It happened to be the debut movie of the director along with the team of a new set of actors – Sanjay Suri, Dino Morea and Rinkhie Khanna. He played second hero role. Leading hero was Dino Morea. The movie was a big flop except the songs Dil se tu kabhi door na jaana and Musu musu hasi.

In 2001, he did the movie Filhaal, the debut movie of Mehna Gulzar as director. This movie starred Tabu, Sushmita Sen, Palash and Sanjay Suri and the movie was based on the subject of surrogate mother.  In 2001, this subject was not a widely used one for movies. In 2002 and 2003, two movies released paying tribute to R.D. Burman. The movies were Dil vil pyar pyar and Jhankar beats and both movies were commercially and musically big successes in Bollywood. In Jhankar beats, he was paired opposite Juhi Chawla. They worked together again in My Brother Nikhil. He delivered a critically acclaimed performance in this movie, perhaps the best performance till now.

He later produced Sorry Bhai with 4 short stories bind together. This movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
