Salim Diwan Biography

Salim Diwan is an Indian film actor who is to make his Bollywood debut through the upcoming Bollywood film - Bollywood Diaries, where he plays the male lead. The movie is directed by award winning director - K. D. Satyam and the movie includes star cast of Raima Sen, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vineet Kumar Singh etc. He plays the role of Rahul, a boy working at a call centre in Delhi who aspires to become an actor. Earlier, he played a cameo role of a doctor in the film - 'Ankur Arora Murder Case'.

Diwan was born in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan in 1980. He was associated with local theater during his school days. But after graduation, he left acting and joined his father's pharmaceutical company and opened alcohol de-addiction centres all over India. He participated in a reality competition called Jet Set Go on Star Plus in 2005-2006 and managed to win an IIFA award in Dubai, which helped him to have a stay at Dubai for 7 days. He also won a cash prize of 1000 dollars. While at Dubai, he got a chance to meet Bollywood stars and that’s how he dreamt to join Bollywood too.

In 2010, he joined Kishor Namit Kapoor Institute to study acting and it was not an easy struggle to get an offer in Bollywood. Though he often thought to go back and join family business, his intense desire prompted him to stay in Mumbai, associated with local theatre. Thus he sharpened his acting skills as well. “Bollywood Dairies” is his debut film and it’s definitely close to Diwan’s personal life and dreams too. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Nasha Mukti Kendra (de-addiction centres) and CEO of Rajasthan Herbals International, known for manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines.
