Sakshi Tanwar Biography

Sakshi Tanwar is a very successful television actress of Indian television. At present she is a popular face with the hit serial, Bade acche lagte hain aired on Sony TV. Kahani ghar ghar ki is yet another popular serial of this successful actress. She played the roles of Priya and Parvathy in these serials respectively.  Both these serials are produced by Ekta Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms. Apart from these two serials, she has also worked in serials like - Ehsaas, Dastoor, Rajdhani, Bhanwar, and X-Zone. She has also anchored Doordarshan programs in her initial career and Albela Sur Mela, a film song based program is one such. Apart from serials, she has also appeared in a few reality shows as well as films.

Sakshi Tanwar was born on January 12, 1973 in Rajasthan. Tanwar started her career in the 1990s, as an anchor in a television program. Dastoor was her first serial where she played supporting role. Then she continued to work in many television serials in supporting roles till she got her first big break of playing the central role in Rajdhani. Yet Kahani ghar ghar ki was her biggest break that became highly popular and ran from 2000 to 2008.

As a television actress, her other roles include – Teepri of Balika Vadhu, central character of Gayatri in Devi and a digital film Kahin Door in the year 2002. As an actress she has worked in Coffee house in leading role, Saluun as a municipal officer and guest appearance in Ekta Kapoor’s C Kompany. She has also worked in short films - O Re Manva and Bawra Mann. She has also worked as a creative director and did Sammaan Ek Adhikaar. She has been working in the soap opera, opposite Ram Kapoor in the serial Bade ache lagte hain, since 2002. She plays the role of an unmarried woman of middle 30’s, who later marries Ram Kapoor of 40+. Now age has processed by and they are playing old parents’ roles.

Other serials include Sanjeevani, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, Kutumb, Virasat, Kahi to hoga and Ek Thhi Naayka. She has anchored Crime Patrol of Sony Television. She has won best actress roles numerous times at different award functions.
