Saju Navodaya Biography

Saju Navodaya is a popular comedian of Malayalam cinema at present. Known for his distinct dialogue delivery and facial expressions he has created a niche of his own in the past two years or so. Role may be short or lengthy; he adds a new life to even the cameo roles. The best instance is Dileep starrer Ivan Maryada Raman.

His comic roles in Oru Second Class Yathra, Thinkal Muthal velli Vare, Bhaskar The Rascal, Jamna Vyapari, Pathemari, Amar Akbar Anthony, Vellimoonga and Life of Josutty worth praising. He is active in film industry since 2014. He is one among those budding talents who reached movies from reality shows. He is the winner of the reality show – Comedy Festival aired on Manorama Television whose team won 50 lakhs as first prize. Saju is also known by the nick name - Pashanam Shaji.

He belongs to Udayamperoor, Kochi. He has been associated with different mimicry troops since teens. He got recognition as a comedian while associated with Manoj Ginnus’ Navodaya Troupe. It was Manoj who rechristened him as Saju Navodaya. He has 8 years of mimicry troupe experience before launching his own troupe named Cochin Jockers. It was during then, his troupe got a chance to participate in the reality show - Comedy Festival aired on Manorama Television. Though his friends were not at all interested in the reality show at first, he along with 4 friends, was one among those 28 teams participated in the show.

His team became popular after the reality show and got a lot of stage shows. He along with his friends bought a car each from the money they got as winners. While his team reached the final round, Saju got his first break to movies. He played a role of a thief in Mannar Mathai Speaking – 2. His second movie – Vellimoonga gave him a big break to acting field.
