Sai Tamhankar Biography

Sai Tamhankar is an Indian film actress who predominantly works in Marathi cinema. She has done bit roles in Bollywood movies – Ghajani and Black and White. Raada Rox and Pudhe Dhoka Aahey are her noted Marathi works. Sai is married to Marathi film maker Amey Gosavi. She has also acted in a few Marathi serials. Pudhe Dhoka Aahey is the Marathi remake of No Entry – Bollywood hit. In this movie she reprised the bold avatar of actress Bipasha Basu. Though a couple of M-Town actresses were considered for the role, Sai was finally selected as the director felt that Sai could carry off the look and role very convincingly. Today, she is one of the most sought after actress in Marathi film industry.

 

This talented Marathi actress was born in Pune in 1986. She was brought up in Sangli. She wanted to try different careers when she was teenager. But when she started participating in college plays, her whole decisions changed. She got award for her play "Aadhe Adhure" which encouraged her to take up acting career. So she reached Mumbai. She graduated from Chintaman College of Commerce, Sangli. She also tried her hand at a course in hotel management and attended an audition for MTV, though she was not selected. She appeared as Asin’s friend in Ghajini.

 

She got her first major role in Marathi serial "Ya Gojirvanya Gharat". It was followed by Agni Shikha, Sathi Re and Kasturi. While she was shooting for Subhash Ghai’s Bollywood movie – Black & White, she got her first lead role for movies. The movie "Sanai Choughade" got released in 2008 where she played female lead opposite Shreyas Talpade. There was no turning back and she went on to become a successful actress.
