Sadiya Siddiqui Biography

Sadiya Siddiqui is an actress who works in movies, television as well as theater. She is known for character roles in Hindi cinema. She entered film industry playing Shah Rukh Khan’s younger sister in comedy, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and known for the portrayal of a prostitute in Fareeda Mehta's 2002 film Kali Salwaar. Kill the rapist – is her upcoming movie where she works aside  Anjali Patil and Sunny Hinduja, and the movie based on the theme of crimes on Indian women is directed by Sanjay Chhel. Sadiya has played supporting roles in Bollywood movies like Just Married, Raghu Romeo, Hitler, Baga Beach, Shabd and Jo Dooba So Paar: It's Love in Bihar! She played lead role in Bollywood movies, Uff! Yeh Mohabbat and Kali Salwaar. She has also appeared in many television serials and plays.

 

She started her acting career in the early 1990’s with Humrahi on Doordarshan in 1993. Same year, she played Shah Rukh Khan’s younger sister is Kabhi ha kabhi naa. She portrayed the role of Rajni in the episode Tasveer Chor of popular detective series of Doordarshan - Byomkesh Bakshi. Sapna Babul Ki Bidaai, Banegi Apni Baat, Saathi re, Rang Rasiya, Hum, Balika Vadhu, Saath phere and Sasural Genda Phool are her other television works. Peele Scooter Waala Aadmi (2007) directed by Manav Kaul and Mahua (2012) by Rajit Kapoor are her noted theater works.   

 

After getting supporting roles in Bollywood, she moved to leading actress role with Uff! Yeh Mohabbat. She worked aside Abhishek Kapoor and Twinkle Khanna in this movie. However this movie flopped at box office. She appeared in a grey shade in this movie. Later she moved to supporting roles. She has appeared in a music video titled ‘Hold it in My Heart’ for the pop band State of Bengal.
