Sachin Gupta Biography

Sachin Gupta is a singer, music composer and instrumentalist. He has been associated with his music band, Mrigya. He has composed songs for Indi-pop albums for top rated pop stars like Atif Aslam, Alisha Chinoy, Jal, Ahmed Jahanzeb, Apache Indian and Mika Singh. He is known by the name, 'Flying Finger Melodies' in the international world of music. He is a noted guitar player also, who is heavenly influenced by Swedish guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Yngwie Malmsteen. He has performed at over 600 concerts including foreign nations like Dubai, London, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. He has also participated in several international music festivals. Now he is associated with rock bands, Rooh and Ni9NE.

 

Gupta was born in a family of doctors on August 12, 1981. He studied at Apeejay School in New Delhi. Though he got admission to IIT-Delhi in Mechanical Engineering, he decided to study physics and joined Sri Venkateswara College in Delhi University. Again he shifted to Economics as main subject and studied at Shahid Bhagat Singh College while pursuing music simultaneously. He was introduced to the guitar at the age of 7 by his mother and music became a part of his life forever. Then he started giving concerts and performed in many countries. In one such occasion he approached Vice President of TIPS Films in London and very soon he shifted to Mumbai. It happened in the year 2005.

 

He began to compose music for pop albums. Atif Aslam's Doorie was an instant hit and brought him acclaim. It was followed by a string of pop albums like Mika's album Dunali, Ashok Masti's Clap on the Beat and Alisha Chinnoy's Shut Up N Kiss Me. Other big names include Apache Indian, UK based Khiza and Pakistani artists Jal, Adeel and Ahmed Jahanzeb. Yaad Aaye Woh Pal and Farishta for Strangers released in 2007 marked his Bollywood debut as a music director. He has composed full tracks of Prince and Dil Kabbadi and has also worked as a guest composer for many movie albums.
