Sabitha Anand Biography

Sabitha Anand is a former actress of Malayalam silver screen in the 1980s. She has also worked in television serials. She is the daughter of famous character artist, J. A. R. Anand known for the roles he played in Neelakuyil, Chemmeen,Snehaseema,Rarichan Enna Pauran, Randidangazhi etc. Sabitha, one of the lead actresses in the 1980s has appeared in more than 100 movies in all south Indian languages. She has also acted in many television serials including Tamil and Malayalam. Currently she is associated with Malayalam cinema portraying character roles. She also appears in Malayalam television serial, Deivamagal.

Sabitha Anand made her acting debut in the early 1980s. Unaru, Mortuary, Ee Yugam, Thadakam, Ayudham, Muthodu Muthu and Ente Upasana are some of her early works, where she mostly portrayed supporting roles. She portrayed the grey shaded role in Menaka-Shankar starrer Muthodu Muthu in 1984. Later she was seen portraying lead heroine opposite all leading stars of Malayalam film industry. She was frequently paired with Mammotty, Mohanlal and Ratheesh in 1980s. She also played lead role in 1987 offbeat National award winning movie – Uppu.

She made her television debut through Doordarshan serials in the early 1990s and also started playing character roles. She got equally active in Tamil movies and serials.
