S. S. Rajamouli Biography

S. S. Rajamouli is a Telugu director, screenwriter and action choreographer. His blockbuster hits like Magadheera and Eega are best instances of special effects and both of which won the National Film Award for Best Special Effects. In 2012, Eaga was showcased at Cannes Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival and Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. His Telugu movies have been dubbed to several Indian languages including Tamil, Hindi, Bengali and Malayalam. He is the son of noted screen writer and director, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad.

 
Rajamouli was born on October 10, 1973 at Chodavaram as the son of K. V. Vijayendra Prasad. M. M. Keeravani, Kalyani Malik, S. S. Naaga, and S. S. Kanchi are his cousins. He is married to Rama Rajamouli. Rajamouli started his career through daily soaps for Eenadu Television. His debut movie was Student No.1 which was a super hit. It was followed by Simhadri (2003), Chatrapati (2005), Vikramarkudu (2006), Yamadonga (2007), Magadheera (2009), Maryada Ramanna (2010), Rajanna (2011) and Eega (2012). Currently he is working on the project Baahubali, simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil.

 
Magadheera and Eega are the most successful movies of Rajamouli. His hit movies, Vikramarkudu was remade to Hindi as Rowdy Rathod and Maryada Ramanna as Son of Sardar. Through the movie Maryada Ramanna, comedy actor Anuj Gurwara turned to be a successful hero and won many awards for his role as protagonist. In 2012, Eaga received National award for best regional film in Telugu. He received Nandi Award for Best Director for the movie Magadheera in 2009. He has received Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu twice for the movies, Magadheera and Eaga. Eaga’s dubbed Hindi version, Makkhi received "Entertainer of The Year 2012" at Star World India awards.
