Rishi S. Kumar Biography

Rishi S. Kumar is a popular face of Malayalam small screen, who gained attention and recognition through Uppum Mulakum, a sitcom, one of the most watched TV programmes in Malayalam. He played Vishnu, the eldest of all kids in the show. His quirky hairstyle is his trademark, and his body language, typical accent and style to wear a big frame without glasses made him an interesting character to watch onscreen, and made him a household name. He also participated in ‘D 4 Dance’ reality show. Now Rishi is set to make his big screen debut through Neeraj Madhav’s Pypin Chottile Pranayam, where he plays male protagonist. He has earlier done a few small roles on big screen.

Rishi hails from Kakkanad, Ernakulam. His father Sunil Kumar is doing business. Mother Pushpalatha is a housewife. He has two younger brothers – Rithu and Rishesh, studying in school. Rishi gets full support from his family for his professional life. When he got his first television role in acting, though Rishi was a little hesitated, his mother and others gave him enough confidence to pursue a career in this field. Dance is his real passion, and that’s how he gained recognition for the first time though. ‘D 4 Dance’ for Mazhavil Manorama was the first show of Rishi.

Rishi believes that dance is the only thing he can do with 100% confidence, happiness and perfection. He also dreams to travel the whole world, and has most recently received an offer for a World tour for his dance performance. His quirky hairstyle has always gained attention, either in positive way and negative. Though he has received negative response, he neglects those comments and believes to do what he feels best. After film’s audition too, Neeraj Madhav allowed him to be a part of his film without cutting his hair. The actor has done several side-kick roles earlier, and it’s his first film as lead hero.
