Rinku Ghosh Biography

Rinku Ghosh is a successful and glamorous actress associated with Bhojpuri cinema. Known as the Dream Girl of Bhojpuri films, ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ and ‘Tu Hain Hamar Balma’ are her most popular film roles. She is of Bengali descent brought up in Kerala. A household name among Bhojpuri audiences, she was also seen in popular Hindi television shows, ‘Durgesh Nandinii’ and ‘Ek Safar Aisa Kabhi Socha Na Tha’. Her debut TV series - ‘Mrs Pammi Pyarelal’, alongside Gaurav Gera is also a popular role on small screen. She has been successfully paired with the most successful Bhojpuri actors, Ravi Kishen and Manoj Tiwari. She has also appeared in a few Bollywood movies like ‘Chalak’ and ‘Wrong Number’.

She is a Bengali born in West Bengal. She was born to a Navy officer and she spent her childhood in Kerala, as her father was posted here. Though she started off with south Indian films and a few Bollywood movies, she rose to prominence through the Bhojpuri roles she played on screen. In 2001 she acted in Telugu movie, Raave Naa Chaliya followed by a few Hindi flicks. Known for her dusky looks she gained immense popularity through Bhojpuri cinema. Her performance has won her accolades and awards.

Some of her recent roles include Chhora Ganga Kinare Wala, Himmatwala, Nagina, Aakhiri Rasta, Kehu Hamse Jeet Na Payi, Saat Saheliyan etc. She was also seen in 2002 Bollywood thriller – Koi Hai. She shared screen space with Aman Verma and Shweta Menon for this film. The movie was directed by Rajiv S. Ruia. Former model, she was chosen as Miss Mumbai in 1996. She acted in one Bengali film – Jai Maa Durge. Every time she receives one movie offer, she tries to do something different.
