Reshmi Menon Biography

Reshmi Menon is a noted Tamil actress of Kerala origin. Made her acting debut in 2003 as a child artist, Tamil film - Inidhu Inidhu (2010), a remake of Telugu hit Happy days marked her acting debut. She played lead role and received mixed response from critics. She reprised the role originally played by Tamannaah. Theneer Viduthi, Burma, Kirumi and Urumeen are her other lead roles. She also played a supporting role in Nayanthara starrer horror thriller – Maya. She is engaged to Tamil actor Bobby Simha on 8 November 2015 and is set to tie knot in 2016. They started dating since the shooting of Urumeen.

Reshmi was born in October 31, 1989 in Kerala. Her entry to films was just an incident. While she was doing Visual Communication in Chennai, she attended an audition for Prakash Raj production, Inidhu Inidhu (2010), and she landed into the lead role. She completed the film shooting skipping a few classes at college. But the movie couldn’t replicate the success of its original. However the director of its original version Sekhar Kammula commented that he forgot Tamannaah and could only see Reshmi, which was her great compliment.

She acted in an independent film - Om Obama. But the film got shelved. Theneer Viduthi – the debut film of music director S. S. Kumaran as a director was her second release, where she was paired with the hero of her debut movie - Adith Arun. The comedy-thriller Burma was her third movie. Once again she failed to impress film critics as a good actress. Kirumi and Urumeen are her other releases. She played female lead in both these movies, which were well received by critics. Natpathigaram 79 is her upcoming flick and she is to debut Telugu film industry with Hyderabad Love Story.
