Ravi Prakash Biography

Ravi Prakash is a popular south Indian actor who appears in supporting roles in Telugu and Tamil movies. Most recently he was seen in Tamil remake of Telugu film Maryada Ramanna, titled Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham where he played the role of elder son Dharma. Ravi is an MBBS graduate and a seasoned actor, who has created a niche of his own through his unique acting skills. He has portrayed both lead and character roles.

He belongs to Vishakhapatanom, Andhra Pradesh. Director Teja saw his pictures and asked him to come to Hyderabad in 2000. Ravi was not really intended to do movies. But when he was given the lead role in 'Shubhavela’ by Teja, he didn’t hesitate to accept it. However the movie was a flop. Yet he got fascinated to the glamour world of cinema and desired not to exit. He had just finished MBBS then. He shifted to Hyderabad in search of a role in movies and build up a career. He didn’t hesitate even to accept small roles, as he felt it was better to remain in the industry.

After a lot of struggles, Gautham Menon's 'Gharshana’, remake of Tamil hit Kakka Kakka proved to be the breakthrough movie of his career. He played the supporting role of ACP Rajesh and when this movie became more successful than the original, his career was lifted as well. Then he went on to appear in a series of movies and established himself as a successful actor of Tollywood. He ventured into Tamil cinema with 'Payanam'. Throughout his career he has played different roles – from a tough cop to a lovable brother.
