Ravi G Biography

Ravi G is an Indian Singer, mrindangam artist, keyboardist and independent musician. He started playing mrindagam from the age of three. His uncle used to play the mrindangam and he  learnt it just by observing him. When he was around seven years old, he began singing in school functions. In fact, that's the time when others came to know that he could sing. His grandfather, Nanganallur V Ramanathan, is a singer. He used to teach many students and that's how Ravi G also selected singing, He began accompanying musicians as a mrindangam player. He  began playing keyboard when he was around 14-15 years. He started with Carnatic music and later, ventured into fusion music with the influence of several musicians.

It is surprising to know that he was never formally trained in music. He came to limelight by winning a music show, Hariyudan Naan. Famous Singer Hariharan adjudged Ravi as the winner of Hariyudan Naan musical show. At present, he plays for a lot of fusion bands.He got his first offer just after Hariyudan Naan from composer Sharreth. He recorded a bajan, Rathe Rathe Bajan, for the film Nootrenbathu. Later, He  recorded a duet for Swaminathan (kanjira expo nent Selvaganesh's son) for the film, Aivaraattam. Now he sang for thala Ajith Kumar  in Tamil movie Vedalam. It is Uyir Nadhi Kalangudhey is his first solo song and it has a massive reach. Working with Anirudh is a turning point in his life. This offer  has given him a break in this industry.
