Ratan Rajput is a successful television actress who concentrates on Hindi soaps. She gained popularity through Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo as Laali, a poor village girl which won her best actress award at several television annual functions and she played the role of Princess Amba in Mahabharat. She participated as a contestant in the controversial show of Colors TV – Bigg Boss 7, where she got eliminated. She also participated in Swayamvar Season 3 Ratan Ka Rishta.

According to critics’ her role as Princess Amba in Mahabharat is her best performance up-to-date. She played the role of Ruchi Sharma in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi and has also done a cameo appearance in Dil Se Diya Vachan as a singer and dancer. As a television actress, she has received many awards and nominations at several television award functions. In 2009, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo earned her best actress award at ITA Awards, Kalakar awards and Indian Telly awards. In 2009, she received Zee Rishtey Awards for the most Popular Female Face Of The Year.

Ulhas belongs to Patna, Bihar to a retired civil servant and a homemaker.  Her lead role as a poor village girl sold by her parents in ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ made her a household name. Then she announced reality TV show 'Ratan Ka Rishta', to choose her life partner through the show. She received a total of 54,863 wedding proposals from across the country after the announcement of her 'Swayamvar' on Imagine TV. From those proposals, she chose 16 contestants of the show and the show was shot at luxurious Shiv Vilas resort.
