Rashid Ali Biography 
Rashid Ali is a playback singer of Bollywood whose song, “Aditi hasde” of Jaana tu ya jaane naa was an instant hit. This big song was given to him by A. R. Rahman. Apart from being a singer, Rashid is also a guitarist, musician and composer. Now he is the hot favourite of Rahman and he has given numerous songs to him. A few of the hit songs of Rashid in Rahman’s composition are Naadhir Thinna (Parthale paravasam – Tamil), "Ishq Ada" of ADA...A Way of Life, "Nazar Laaye" of Rhanjanaa, "Kabhi Kabhi Aditi" of Jaana tu ya jaane naa, "Bhoola Tujhe” of Blue, "Cry Cry" and "Call Me Dil" of Jhoota hi sahi and "Sun Lo Zara" of Ek Deewana Tha.
Rashid was born in Hyderabad, but brought up in London. His father is a retired businessman and mother is a ghazal singer. He had basic training on the rhythm guitar for one year and then learnt everything by himself. He is a good listener of music and improved himself by listening to all genres of music, in particular Jazz fusion, Spanish and Latin music. He never had formal training in singing.
Rashid was spotted at a concert in London by A R Rahman. For Unity of Light Concert he performed a jazz centric fusion of 'Ooh La La La'. Since then, Rashid became a part of Rahman’s troupe. Rahman gave him first opportunity in playback singing as well. It was for the Tamil movie, Parthale paravasam. His second association with Rahman provided him the big break and made the doors to Bollywood wide open. He sang Kabhi Kabhi Aditi and Kahin toh songs for the movie and earned a Filmfare nomination for playback singing as well. He is a guitarist and has played guitar for ‘Aditi ‘song also in the movie, Jaane tu ya jaane naa. He has worked as a guitarist for many compositions of Rahman.
Rashid has finished working on his own debut album titled 'Call Me Rashid' and will be released soon. He has composed and arranged its songs also. The album has been produced by A R Rahman under his own label.
