Rannvijay Singh Biography

Rannvijay Singh is a popular VJ associated with Channel V. He is best known for MTV roadies, adventurous reality show - the show which he hosts on MTV. This Mumbai based VJ is also known as a writer and actor. ‘Mango’ directed by Abbas Tyrewala is his upcoming Hindi flick in which he plays the lead role. He loves travels, bikes and adventures a lot and regards travel as an inseparable part of his life.

He made his Bollywood debut with the film Toss: A Flip of Destiny and has also worked in Salman Khan-Ajay Devgan starrer big budget movie, London Dreams in 2010. He played lead role opposite Ayesha Takia in Mod. Action Replayy and Direct dil se are his other Bollywood movies. In 2011, he made his Punjabi film debut through Dharti. Taur mittran Di and Saadi Love Story are his other Punjabi movies. He has also appeared in a few television ads. Mango is his upcoming Hindi movie, in which he plays lead role opposite Monali Thakur and Swara Bhaskar. The movie is directed by Abbas Tyrewala, of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane na Fame.

He was born in Jalandhar, Punjab to an army officer. Rannvijay’s six generation male ancestors have worked in army, Rannvijay being an exception. As a result of his father’s transferable job, his school was completed at different schools including boarding. He graduated from Hans Raj College, Delhi University. He too, like his ancestors decided to join Indian army. He cleared exams and medical test too. However in 2003, he happened to participate in MTV roadies First season where he finished as one finalist. He has craze on bikes and his only intention to participate in the show was to win Karizma bike which was popular that time.

Later when MTV offered him to host the same show thereafter, he became a part of the show. He has also successfully hosted MTV shows like MTV Stuntmania, MTV Splitsvilla Season 1, MTV The Fast and The Gorgeous and MTV Teen Diva. The last series of MTV roadies which he hosted was MTV Roadies X : Battle for Glory in 2013.
